What I’m Eating: Honey Sweetened Ground Turkey

Once adding honey to my ground turkey it added such sweet flavor that I instantly loved. Before cooking the turkey, I chopped up onion and sauteed them with some olive oil for 5-7 minutes and added seasoning (cumin and thyme). I set aside the cooked onions, and, using the same pan, cooked the turkey. Once the turkey was about halfway cooked, I drizzled about 2 tablespoons on to the turkey and let it brown until it was cooked through.

This is a great way to add extra flavor to a drier, leaner ground meat. For my seasoned and sweetened meat, I added it to a vegetable packed split pea soup; the end result was scrumptious!
